What I use:
For the track "Split A Mountain" I used Logic Pro 9, with NI plug-Ins (Native Instruments) I also used XLN Audio's Addictive Drums. Otherwise, most of the sounds come from Logic's own sound-library, Ultrabeat is one of them which I really enjoy working with. Just a few tweaks here and there and it can turn out pretty cool. For EQ's and Compressors I use a lot of Waves plug-ins which are great and really enjoyable to work with. My approach: I wanted to create something more towards Pop-music with a bright and yet powerful feel to it. I started out with the drum section and a chordprogression on the piano. I wanted a lot of rhythmical movement in this track and therefore the cowbell worked well throughout the entire track. To make it a bit more "open" and "grand" I used a choir, arpeggios and a sub-bass to give it some depth.
