Happy Chinese New Year everyone!
Today is the beginning of the Chinese New Year.
Chinese New Year is one of the oldest celebrations in China, and as such there are many traditions people carry out every year to celebrate this wonderful time. Fireworks are lit, drums are played and red lanterns are released in their thousands.
And every year is a new year for a certain zodiac animal, 2013 was the year of the snake, but 2014 will be the year of the horse, or more specifically the year of the Green Wood Horse.
The Year of the Horse is seen as bringing good fortune to those who are willing to take a chance and work hard at achieving a goal.
For centuries China has been know as the “Celestial Empire”. This often refers to the belief that divine and mortals once co-existed and that the divine through different dynasties transmitted a rich and abundant culture to the people. What makes Chinese culture and civilization so unique is that its history has been passed down uninterrupted for over 5000 years.
Many new things are happening for us this year. The new Ep has just come out and I´m really looking forward to being a part of Rise-Ascend and Direction music from now on. There will be a lot of great music and interesting blogging coming up so make sure to keep yourselves updated on our website.
As you may already know – I love music and for me music is like a universal language that binds worlds and people together and create the most wonderful dimensions of joy and beauty. Therefore, I have been greatly inspired by Shen Yun Performing Arts. I saw the show a few years back and it is really outstanding and beautiful. Good to be back with the new Ep "Lift Them Up".
During the last 6 months I've been building up my home-studio and studying the art of mixing. We've decided to mix our own music in order to bring more new fresh tunes to you guys on a more frequent basis.
I especially enjoyed mixing “Carry The Load” which is the 2nd track on the Ep. It's an honest mix with the vocals quite up-front without to much effects added except for Eq's, Compression etc. There's about 40 vocal tracks and something like 20 instrument tracks in this mix. It's a great song and Rise Ascend did a fantastic job on the vocals/lyrics so check that out.
Furthermore, I'm also glad to have Mimmi, my wife on the project now. She's been helping me behind the scenes for quite some time with her natural gift for melodies and rhythm and her contribution adds much dynamics to our music, with much more to come in the near future. She's a great singer & songwriter and inspiring to work with, you'll soon hear more of her.
